Chegu Bard vows to continue unmask Paya Indah Wetland issue

Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) leader Badrul Hisham Shaharin vows that his team will continue to unmask the truth behind Paya Indah Wetland land status change from agriculture to development by the Selangor state government.
Hisham who is fondly known as ‘Chegu Bard’ has been continuously vocal against Menteri Besar Azmin Ali’s administration claimed in his first revelation last month that Lot 68054 an area conserved under the Ramsar convention was changed to development status.
Speaking to reporters in Bangsar, Chegu Bard referred that a land search shows the Lot 68054 ownership has been transferred to Gamuda Berhad.
“The 619 ha land was given to Salak Land Development Sdn Bhd in 1994 by Barisan Nasional government, however, four former menteri besar did not allow the land to be changed for development.
“To our surprise on September 2014, Gamuda Berhad announced the land purchased valued at RM 784.3 million from Salak Land Development,” he claims.
Last week Azmin defended that anyone dissatisfied with the Selangor government’s explanation on the Paya Indah Wetland issue and has proof of alleged land rezoning, should bring it to the relevant authority.
He further challenged any individuals dissatisfied and claims to have proof to lodge a complaint at Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC).
State Exco for tourism, environment, green technology and consumer affairs Elizabeth recently told the media that there has been no application to change the use of Lot 4827 and 3974.
A memorandum of understanding was inked between the Federal and Selangor governments on the management and administration of the preservation of Paya Indah Wetlands on 2007.
She further added that the Lot 68504 referred by Chegu Bard was private land out of Paya Indah Wetlands zone.
When asked by MO whether he will take up the challenge put forward by Azmin to lodge an official complaint at MACC, he said his team is in the midst of compiling the information related to the land transaction and proxies.
The team formed by SAMM merely to unveil on the land will seek for proper legal process in the near future once we have concluded with our preliminary investigation and fact gathering, Chegu Bard said.
