Futsal cup goes to ‘Brazil’ (keluar juga The Star)

‘BRAZIL” emerged champion when they beat “Germany” 5-2 at the Fiesta Futsal World Cup tournament, held at the Rasah Indoor Football Centre in Seremban, Negri Sembilan.

Held in the spirit of World Cup 2006, the tournament emulated one of the biggest sports events worldwide.

The two-day event that began on June 17 received an overwhelming response from youths, some from Kuala Lumpur and Malacca.

A total of 64 teams took part in the tournament, competing with each other for the trophy – a replica of the World Cup.

The event, organised by the Keadilan Youth, was to gather and encourage youths into healthy activities.

The eight quarterfinalists wore the jerseys of seven countries, representing Germany (two teams), Brazil, Argentina, England, France, Spain and Portugal.

The third and forth places went to “Argentina” and “England”.

“Brazilian” Jamaludin Alias, a 29-year-old clerk of an EON Bank branch in Malacca, won The Best Scorer Award.
