Apologise for doubting Anwar’s letter, says Chegubard

PETALING JAYA: PKR leaders who openly doubted the veracity of Anwar Ibrahim’s letter should apologise, says Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM) chairman Badrul Hisham Shaharin.
“It is clear that those PKR leaders who said the letter was false had lied in the media and had bad intentions. Leaders like these are shameful and should apologise,” said Badrul Hisham, also known as Chegubard, pointing to Anwar’s statement that the letter was indeed from him.
Chegubard said the discussion around the matter had lost its focus as people were more interested in looking at who “leaked” the letter than discussing Anwar’s intentions.
“To not discuss the letter’s contents, but to instead busy yourselves with who leaked the letter is shooting the messenger,” he said.
Chegubard also railed against PKR Deputy President Azmin Ali and his “lackeys” for working with former premier Mahathir Mohamad, saying that Anwar had clearly asked them not to do so.
“Anwar’s letter clearly asked everyone, including the PKR leadership, to… stay away from Mahathir. But even after the letter was revealed, Azmin and his lackeys kept following Mahathir around, fully aware and unapologetic,” he said.
“Mahathir continues to accuse and to make an enemy of Anwar. Whoever is with Mahathir today, especially the PKR leadership, is disobeying Anwar.
“Don’t let Mahathir and his cartel soil the grounds of our struggle,” he added.
