Rally to go ahead,

Badrul Hisham Shaharin che'GuBard

KUALA LUMPUR: Organisers plan to hold the Suara Rakyat 505 Rally at the MPPJ Field next to Amcorp Mall this coming Saturday to expose incidents of electoral fraud said spokesman Badrul Hisham Shaharin.
"We will present clear evidence of electoral fraud and reclaim the democratic right which was stolen from the people" he said, adding that the gathering the start of similar nationwide gatherings.

Badrul, who is also known as Chegubard, said that some 48 non-governmental organisations and civil society bodies have indicated their willingness to participate in the gathering.

He maintained that the Election Commission was not fair and transparent with regard to the polls with organisers of the rally to issue three demands.

The first demand, he said, is the resignation of Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof and his entire committee and appointment of a new committee answerable to Parliament.
The second demand, he added, was for by-elections to be held for seats where fraud is evident.
He said the final demand was for the support of all parties including government agencies for the Peoples' Tribunal mooted by Bersih.

He stressed there was no such thing as a Malaysia Spring akin to the Arab Spring but merely pyschological war propagated by the authorities to create fear amongst the people.

"We are going to the streets not to overthrow to government or cause chaos but to demand that democratic rights be returned to the people," he told reporters at a press conference yesterday.

Asked if police had been notified of the proposed gathering, he merely said it was under control.
He also denied that exposes of electoral fraud at the gathering would pre-empt political parties from challenging the polls results after they were gazetted.

On a separate issue, Badrul, who is also chairman of Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia, condemned the arrest and remand of Adam Adli Abdul Halim for alleged sedition.

He clarified that Adam's brief speech at the Chinese Assembly Hall at a gathering on May 13 must be taken in context and the words used as lingo used by the youth. - staronline
